One recording, many timelines
Record once, publish everywhere: a project holds several timelines, each an independent cut of the same media. The tabs above the timeline switch between them.
What’s independent per timeline
Section titled “What’s independent per timeline”Everything editorial: trims, cuts and clip arrangement; the canvas (aspect ratio, background, padding); zooms; caption styling; masks. A 16:9 YouTube cut, a tight vertical for Shorts, and a square LinkedIn version live side by side without duplicating a byte of media.
Working with them
Section titled “Working with them”- + next to the tabs adds a timeline (duplicate the current cut as a starting point, or start clean).
- Rename or delete from the tab’s context menu.
- Each timeline exports on its own — pick the tab, then export.
Timelines inside timelines
Section titled “Timelines inside timelines”- Nest: drag a timeline’s tab onto the timeline. It lands as one amber block, labelled with its name, at the point you drop it. A block holds pictures, videos and text — a timeline with sound, captions, zooms or masks can’t be nested — and nesting goes one level deep.
- Insert: the stack button in the timeline bar copies another timeline’s clips in at the playhead as ordinary clips.
- Extract: select several clips, right-click, and choose Move Selection to New Timeline.
A workflow that works
Section titled “A workflow that works”- Cut the full-length landscape version first — trims, zooms, captions.
- Duplicate it, switch the canvas to 9:16, and tighten: bigger captions, crop to the action, bigger cursor.
- Duplicate again for square, adjust, done.
Fixing a flubbed word is a per-timeline edit — each cut owns its trims — but media-level things (a re-recorded take, captions’ transcript) are shared, so the fix lands everywhere it should.
