Shape the take
Trim in and out, split clips, ripple-delete pauses and change speed without rebuilding the project.
Native screen recording for Mac
Kapture uses clicks, keys and scrolls to place better zooms, then opens a full timeline for the finishing touches.
Automatic zooms
Kapture watches clicks, typing, scrolling and cursor movement to frame the part that matters. It leaves still moments alone, and every zoom stays editable.
The editor
Choose a step to jump through one real Kapture edit, from capture through export. Every state stays available in the same project.
Capture / 01
Pick a display, window or area, then bring in the sources the take needs. Kapture keeps screen, camera, microphone and system audio separate, so a noisy track or an awkward camera moment never ruins the recording underneath it.
Editing / 02
The first pass arrives quickly. The final call stays yours. Open the take on a multi-track timeline and change any automatic choice with the same controls you would expect from a dedicated editor.
Trim in and out, split clips, ripple-delete pauses and change speed without rebuilding the project.
Add or redraw zoom regions, tune their timing and keep quiet moments comfortably still.
Smooth motion, change size, hide idle moments and add click ripples or sounds when they help.
Blur a private area, spotlight a region, crop the source and tune the canvas around it.
Balance microphone, system audio and music, reduce noise and duck the background under speech.
Save canvas, cursor and camera treatments as presets, then bring the same finish to the next project.
Captions / 03
Transcribe the take on device, correct the words and retime any cue. Choose how the track looks in the editor, then decide whether to burn it into the finished file.
No upload queue and no cloud transcript.
Move one caption without disturbing the rest of the track.
Set the overall look, then emphasize an individual moment.
Keep captions editable until the final export.
Deliver / 04
Build alternate timelines from the same source media instead of duplicating a project. Keep a wide demo, a vertical reel and a square social cut together, then export each one for where it is going.
Private by default
Recording, transcription, zoom analysis and export run locally. There is no account, upload queue or hosted project.
Agent tools
42 MCP tools let Claude Code, Cursor and Codex record, trim, rebuild zooms, style captions, make reels and export the open project.
The project stays open in Kapture, so every change is visible, reversible and yours to refine.

Questions
Yes. Recording, editing, automatic zoom, captions and agent control are free with no account or time limit. Free exports are 1080p at 30 fps and carry a small corner watermark; Pro removes the mark and raises the ceiling to 4K and 60 fps.
The app, and every version released in the twelve months after you buy it. When that window closes nothing is taken away — the copy you have keeps working exactly as it is, with no watermark and nothing switched off. You stop receiving newer versions until you choose to renew, and renewing extends the window from wherever it left off rather than from the day you renew.
Nothing. Kapture keeps working at the last version your window covered, for as long as the Mac runs it. There is no nag screen, no watermark returning, and no feature switched off. Renew only if a later version is worth it to you.
The licence if you want to own it: it pays for itself against monthly inside a year and never expires. Monthly if you would rather try Pro for a while, or only need it for a single project.
No. Recording, transcription, zoom analysis and export run locally. Kapture has no upload queue, cloud project or hosted share link.
Yes. Kapture records system audio and your microphone as separate tracks, so you can mix them after the take.
Kapture plans zooms from clicks, typing, scrolling and cursor movement instead of chasing the pointer alone. It leaves still moments alone, and every planned zoom remains editable.
Yes. Copy Kapture's local MCP URL from Settings into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP-compatible client. Your agent connects directly to Kapture on your Mac; there is no Kapture-hosted bot or cloud project.
Kapture exposes 42 MCP tools for recording, trimming, rebuilding zooms, styling captions, making reels and exporting. The project stays open in Kapture, so every change is visible, reversible and yours to refine.
