Feature

Zooms that place themselves

A screen recording without zooms is unwatchable on a phone. Kapture logs where you clicked and typed while recording, then opens the editor with zooms already placed over those moments — centred on the pointer, timed to the activity, every one of them editable.

Automatic first, manual where you want

The generated set is a starting point, not a verdict: each zoom is a chip on the timeline you can move, stretch or delete. Press Z to add one at the playhead, or ⇧Z to draw exactly the region that should fill the frame.

Easing that reads as a camera, not a cut

Every zoom carries an easing curve, from mechanical to cinematic. The camera bubble can shrink out of the way while a zoom holds, then return when it releases.

Honest by construction

Zooms come from your recorded input events — which means they land on what you actually did, not on guesses from pixel analysis. Recordings made without the Accessibility permission simply start with no zooms; you can still add them by hand.

Questions

Can I regenerate the automatic zooms after editing?

Yes — rebuild the whole set from the Zoom tab at any time.

Do zooms work on vertical exports?

Yes. Zooms are part of the timeline, and each timeline has its own canvas — the same zoom reads correctly in 16:9 and 9:16.

What if I recorded without the permissions?

No event log means no automatic placement — Z and ⇧Z still add manual zooms anywhere.
