Own the frame before play is pressed

On X, LinkedIn and iMessage, the first frame is the thumbnail. Kapture makes it a one-step decision: drop in a poster image for half a second, hold a title card, or copy the best moment of the video to the front as a cold open.

The Intro tool in the Video tab

Add an intro from a file

Pick an image or video; everything on the timeline slides right and the file lands at 0:00, full frame. An image defaults to a 0.5-second poster — enough to register as the preview without delaying the video — with the length dialled right there.

Or open with your best moment

"Use selection as opener" copies a chosen moment to the very start — linked camera and audio ride along, and captions and zooms replay over the copy automatically.

It's a real clip

The intro lives on the timeline like everything else: trim it, swap it, animate it. What you preview is exactly what exports.

Questions

Will the platform actually use my first frame?

X and iMessage preview the first frame of the file. YouTube lets you upload a thumbnail separately — the intro still makes the opening second look deliberate.

Can I change the intro's length later?

Yes — type a new duration and the rest of the timeline follows it automatically.
